just throwing this out here as ive not noticed a post on it, ive tried a few wow wines recently of various flavours.. the last one i tried has turned out to probably be the best ive made... the cheapest and the most simple, i tried this simply because i wanted to make a white wine and could not get the grape juice

basic recipe was

3 litre of asda apple juice (own brand not smartprice )
1 tsp of pectolase
1/2 tsp of tanin
600grams of white sugar
youngs wine yeast

og was about 1.085 - 1.090 and it fermented to almost dry about 0.095

racked off then de-gassed and youngs wine stabliser added

fined with clear it wine finings and left for another week then bottled

it turned out a very nice dry white wine with a nice colour.. even the mrs was surprised how good it was and she is as fussy as they come, i will certainly be making this again

it looks alot darker in the pictures than it actually is... it has a very light yellow colour

another thing ive noticed about this wine is it does not go cloudy when its chilled.. :hmm:
all the rose wines ive done have all gone cloudy when chilled.. i added a half teaspoon of sugar too a chilled glass of this tonight and i think it benefits from a little sweetness as it was very dry... definately getting some of this on the go tommorow.. £2 for six bottles of white wine

that looks the part mate, nice labels too !

those came on the bottles mate... lol not my handy work

I am not 100% sure chippy but now I think of it, its possable that there was none in these bottles of rose I have left.. the last batch of rose I did I threw away because it went peculiar after sweetening with red grape juice, I do know my earlier wines did not have pectolase in them so maybe thats it... Only way to find out is too make some more I guess.

I have had the chill haze myself but that was when I first started, I haven't had one go cloudy in ages, I use pectolace in all my wines.

iam sure your right.. gives me another excuse to get some more brewing to test it out, off to asda we go

This looks nice how long ws the fermentation stage and was it quiet a lot of apples

the wines made from simple supermarket concentrated apple juice.. asda's green box.. so no apple picking needed! :)

fermention was about 7- 8 days i think... not sure tbh

Funny thing i have made a lot of wow's but never tried a simple apple wine, think i will give it a go after seeing this. Did you use a standard demijohn and top up with water - after the initial excitable fermentation obviously ?

pretty much.. 3 litres of aj.. add your sugar solution and top up if you need too, just be carefull when disolving your sugar that you dont use too much water as theres only a litre of headroom to get to the shoulder of the demijon, once cleared you can top up as desired

:)
