While I'm waiting for my beer to brew and eying up what gear I want to buy next I thought I'd let you know about these guys - http://www.appleorphanage.com/
They're my friends who've been brewing for years (we have some great homebrew get-togethers haha), and they've started up a co-operative here on the Isle of Man to encourage anyone who has apple trees in their gardens that they do nothing with to get involved and pass on their apples in exchange for juice or cider. The site will tell you more about it, but I think it's pretty cool so thought you should all know about it too :)
As I say they've only really started this year but they've gained a lot of attention already and it's proving to be really popular. They even made it onto the BBC! http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/isleofman/h ... 938191.stm
