My third brew in and I decided to make the Woodfordes Bure Gold kit - gone ok but messed up putting the dry hops in. The kit says "after 4 days add the hops" So I contacted them as I wasn't sure if that was 4 days from making it up or from when fermentation started. No reply so I decided to add them after 4 days of ferm starting but due to a cock up I added them after 3 days!

A recent hydro reading and tasting showed little hop flavour so I guess it was eaten by the active fermentation.

So if anyone has made this brew could I add some more hops for the final few days? I also want to leave this in the FV for longer than the 10 days recommended and to cold crash. Will this be ok?

Woodfordes finally came back with 4 days after fermentation which I suppose is obvious - but they should make it clearer for newcomers and pillocks like myself!

Trying to work out what hops they use: "we’ve found hops from America and Slovenia" so my guess for the latter would by Styrian Goldings / Celeia which are always a good bet for dry hopping. Get yourself some and drop 20-30g in 5 days from the end.

I'd leave it 14 days at least then cold crash. You really need a hydrometer to work out when it's finished but 14 days is usually sufficient.

The hops are Amarillo and Cascade - 10g each - according to the foil packs they came in. I have Cascade so may just drop 20g in and see what happens.
