A quick question about water quality

Is the water quality up here OK for brewing straight from the tap or are campden tablets a must have?

As you are brewing from kits the only thing you need to worry about is the taste.

Does it taste OK, or does it taste of Chlorine.

If it tastes of chlorine, then add a Campden Tablet, if it tastes OK then you don't need to bother.

The quality of your water becomes a bigger issue when brewing from Grain, but you needn't worry about that for a couple of months. ;)

I think its fair to say you two are my guru's at the moment!! Thank you so much for all your help :thumb:

Andy,

I live in the village of Storth just south of Kendal,

The water here is fine for brewing, I just use it 'straight from the tap' :thumb:

don't know what it's like 'down south' in the Morecambe/Heysham area though :hmm:

Pssst ..... want any bottles :?:
