I have justed use Spalt hops in a Pseudo lager this morning, they are a Noble hop I believe and smell like noble/british hops like EKG etc. Has anyone used them before and by the way I have used them on their own

Used them as the single hop in a kölsch and they were great.

Used the rest of the batch in an IPA and can't say they brought anything to the table but it stopped them getting wasted so

That's exactly what I have done Fury I added them to a Kolsch style with CML Kolsch yeast so I am expecting a lager like taste, single hop too

I used that same yeast in mine. What temp are you fermenting it at?

I was really happy with it, very much like a lager, cleared up fairly quickly and nicely.

I am waiting for it to cool down at the moment as it is at 27C but will be about 18/19c when I add the yeast as I do not have a fermentation fridge and the garage is too cold at the moment

I've used it twice, once I fermented at 20c and once at 15c. Both were great but definitely benefitted (clarity wise) from a long cold rest before bottling. IIRC I lagered at around 2c (the coldest my fridge would go) for 4 weeks for both of them once they had fermented out, then bottled.

Might have another go at that yeast soon actually.

I have used the CML Kolsch quite a few times now and think it is a good yeast and drops clear but sometimes it does need a little longer but as most of this type will be lagered time is not a problem
