Was just wondering if any of you guys have made beers containing New Zealand hops? I know that Nelson Sauvin, Topaz and Green Bullet are relatively well known. I was having a look at Kohatu, Wai-iti and Riwaka for some steep or dry hopping.

Anybody had a go with these?

I'll second the shout for galaxy :thumb:
I've used quite a lot of Nelson Sauvin, I love them......but some don't. They have a zesty, 'white wine' finish which some don't enjoy. Great late hop IMO.
I've got a pack of Wai-iti in the freezer, but they are going to have to wait until after Christmas for their go.

If you manage to find any Riwaka can you let me know where.... I made a fantastic beer with those once, and I've not been able to find any since!

That's where I'm picking them up from. They seem to have some hard to find hops on there for reasonable prices.

You got a recipe on here for your Riwaka beer keith?

you might get some inspiration here Yeastie Boys the Kiwi Brewdog :?: they actually have recipes on some of the beers, one of the days I'll get round to brewing their Digital IPA

Wow, they seem pretty out there! I calculate for that Digital IPA you would need just under 400g of hops per 25L! and some pretty heavy hops at that - 150g of Nelson Sauvin just for starters.

Very tempted to give this a go
