the weather never stops me riding! Grrr!!! I used to ride up the A19 from Yarm to Sunderland in the snow and had to smash the frozen snow off my gloves when I got there! No heated grips either!

Currently riding a kawasaki ZXR400H2 which I've just rebuilt. Before that I was riding a Suzuki GS500E until some prat on his 'phone ran into the back of me at 30mph whilst i was stationary. My previous road bikes were a Honda H100SD (loved that bike, it only did 56mph so I went EVERYWHERE at 56mph!) and a Honda CB650 Nighthawk. My last two steeds are my favourites - a 1966 DOT 250CC trials bike and a 1967 Cotton Lightweight Trials (currently under massive restoration).

All the best things begin with "b" - bikes, beer, brewing, bonking....

That takes me back to my youth in Sheffield, I worked in the Steel industry and naturally shifts were involved, a 05:30 start in winter meant cold, I got to work one morning dieing for a p, only to find the zips on my wax cottons frozen solid and no way to get at my old man  I had to spend 5 minutes on an electric heater (the risk of shock was acceptable at the time ;) ) waiting to thaw out :)

It was great the other week when we had all those floods and the traffic round here was total gridlock - straight down the middle of the lot of it! Never had to thaw my trousers off before though!! That's hardcore even by my standards! :thumb:

my mantra for the bike is "we may get cold and wet bit we dont do traffic" :)

Quite so! :thumb: the bike knocks about 10 mins each way off my trip to work purely 'cos I don't have to sit in the queues!

I'm just waiting for the weather to turn REALLY cold, and then it'll be a day-to-day decision in whether to take the bike or not... dreading it as I really look forward to getting on the bike every morning and every evening!!

I'm hoping the bank manager wil let me get the Falco on the road early next year, it's in need of some serious TLC, but the new (brew) shed will be here on Thursday, the bike is going in with the brewery, so I should have space to work on it over winter in the warm and dry (along with beer ready to hand :) )

Problem is I've also got a few DIY projects backed up that Mrs TRX would like completed before spring, so it's a balancing act with my time :D

I don't use the bike for work though, I'm 15 minutes away by car, and it takes me longer than that to get the bike out of security and me into my kit :)

I agree with both of you - I love getting on the bike every morning and evening and my work is out in the boonies so it's a good ride, but the chew of getting into gear and out of it again is a bit of a pain. The missus keeps offering me the car but it's just not the same, on the rare occasions I do use the car I feel like a cheat!

I have an Aprilia Caponord which I use as much as possible and will continue to commute on until the gritters start putting salt on the road.

It will then be taken off the road and tucked away until spring.

Hope you nail it going round Healey House bends between Netherton and Meltham before laying it up.

Or over Holme Moss to Woodhead :thumb:

Yes, I know, I'm very late at getting to this

But yes, over Holme Moss to Woodhead is one of my favorites :thumb:

haven't stopped using mine but did have just stripped all the fairing and got in with a toothbrush to get the crud off, a very relaxing week
