HI , I have been living in Spain for 12 years now and n the last year have started to make my own real ale from kits bought from Balliihoo. If anyone can reccomend other suppliers then I am always interested. I have not made any ale for the last 2 months as this would be out of the temperature range suggested on the beer kits I have bought. This always lists fermenting temp between 18-26 degrees. Would there be a major problem fermenting in temperatures upto 35 degrees?

Regarding other suppliers, have a look at the images in the header and footer - they are our forum sponsors - contact them and see what they have.

Are you actually complaining of the high temps ! :D

Those temps are certainly too high for good consistent brewing of ales and beers. You will need to provide an area were lower temps can be maintained. A fridge is good as is the old water bath to stand your vessels in, adding ice cubes and water as necessary to get the temps down to 20-23 degrees.
I don't know whether to envy you or commiserate with you as we look forward to the approach of our winter.....
What's your temps like during your winter period, perhaps you might consider brewing at that time of year and use the summer hot periods of sunning and drinking and partying and swimming and.........
If you'd like to house swap for a few months next July August let me know.... :D

Thanks for all the welomes and the replies. Getting a fridge into my understairs brewery is not feasible due to lack of power. It has taken me 2 years to add a couple of sockets in the lounge! The temperature is now dropping here and we are down to 27ish so I hope that is low enough. I am going to try anyway and cross my fingers. Piddledribble, I am afraid ice cubes would be wasted as I spend a good 12 hrs a day out of my house . In the winter it stays quite warm (14-18 or so) until maybe Feb then we normally get some cold snaps and in reent years we have been getting frost and snow!
