Oh RedX that’s a wee blast from the past. I used it in three batches of a festbier 2kg + lager malt 3.5kg and some acidulated malt for a 23litre batch. Went down rather well and had a ruby tint that I liked. The 2nd batch was the best and I couldn’t quite work out why but it was one of the earliest all grain beers I did so I suspect I wasn’t very consistent in process.

Thank you for that @Harald . It has challenged my understanding of how coloured malts work. I had thought you had to keep the overall mix to give around 30ebc, but 50/50 with pale malt world lighten it. Or so I thought. Your photo begs to differ. It looks a lovely pint, I have to say, and looks like a good English bitter. Only red!

Why did you stop using it?
If you were to ask me why do I persist, I don't know. It drinks thin and is most unenglish (and unscottish) as a malt. I just love the colour and it has a certain flavour, which is a bit different.
