Hi, I started my first brew last Tuesday and it said on the instructions that the airlock should bubble for the first 12 - 24 hours. It didnt bubble at all but started to today which is 5 days later. Will that be a problem?

Dont worry mate.........
It will be OK.
It all depends on how warm your FV is as to when the fermentation gets going.
Sounds a bit like your FV could do with a bit of insulation tho.

Yeah I have a thermometer on the side and it has been a degree or 2 lower than recommended. Should I leave it in the fermeneter for a couple of extra days or stuill go ahead with the bottling at the suggested time?

never ever go by the times stated on instructions, wait until bubbles stop going through the airlock and then test it over a couple of days with a hydometer to make sure it has stopped the 1st fermentation, if it has stopped and the reading is ok, syphon into another fv leaving all the rubbish behind, and leave for at least a week maybe 2 in the 2nd fv, this will help it to clear quicker when you finally bottle it.
remember a brewers best friend is patience (unfortunatly!)
good luck with your brewing and enjoy!
