just wandered if someone can shed some ligt on a question i have


basically what happens if a little air gets in to the fermenting bin in the first day or 2


also im fermenting a kit of pilsner in a 5 gallon bin and its about 5-6 inches down from the top so what about the air in there will that cause a problem

dont worry as the fermentation process starts it produces a layer of co2 which will keep nasties out try not to keep opening the Fv during fermentation as the co2 will escape

CO2 is heavier than air so will sit there quite happily, unless blown out.
Just stick your nose into the open FV and sniff!
 
I nearly suffocated :sick: :sick: on CO2 yesterday after looking in on my beer, coughing and spluttering everywhere.
