Ah F**k It - 22 August 09

Morning all,

Back brewing today - beer is going to be called Ah, F**k It in honour of our cricketers who are no doubt going to cack everything up!

Banging some MO, Crystal and whatever we can find in the mash tun, and then some fuggles and goldings during the boil.

First day with new (non-home made) mash tun, so hopefully things will be a bit smoother!

all went well, got the boil on fairly swiftly, had a bit of trouble with the immersion cooler, cant seem to get proper connectors for the inflow (and mixer tap), but got down to a good temp, dropped into the FV.

Then, from nowhere, wind blew a hose connector into the FV... probably completely knackered the beer, but there you go - name a beer ah f**k it, and there you go.

At least we won the ashes!

Crikey that is bad luck, did you get the connector out? i would have been tempted to put it back into the kettle and heat it to kill off anything that might have got in. Hope you get away with it mate I knocked a spoon into the fv once, sterilised my arm and took it out, i was sure the beer would be infected but i got away with it so there is hope :thumb:

yeah, instinct kicked in and fortunately (or more likely unfortunately) i dived straight in and pulled it out whilst shouting oh c**k. Might have to rename the beer and only feed it to infirm members of the family!
