Made this using 69L
12.5kg marris otter
1kg wheat malt
1kg flaked maize
50G target or challenger :drink: 12.8% AA 90 mins
50g of above 60 mins
25g EKG 15 mins
75g EKG 5mins
started off with a new beer fridge for £10 but SWMBO took a liking to it
so ended up with this instead, its a freezer at the bottom, so will only hold about 50 bottles or a pressure barrel
Heres some S04 im attempting to wash from AG3
Very difficult to decant the layers off though...
heres the adjuncts, no idea what the maize will do to the flavour
This is what happened to AG3 some bottles
some more bottles
Some more in the barrel
so thought i didnt have enough so better start brewing!
98L of warming water with 1.5 campdens in
all held up on very skinny fish tank stand with some extra height welded on
really need a better stand as the steel is like 1-1.5mm and only L shaped
Grain shot (their not my tiny hand by the way, im not a 4 year old brewer!)
Mash tun ready for covering, lost a bit of temp due to helper taking too long to stir, so added 3L of boiling water
3 tier system in action
First runnings
Some pics of the boil before my kettle elements both went into saftey cutoff!!
2 hours later after draining fixing and refilling. The offending items
Started about 4pm, finished at midnight
pitched the yeast from my saved S04 and 3FV`s have good heads on them this morning, although the temp gauge shows them at 24 degrees still
Ended up with 69L at 1047
