Try and adjust your volumes so you end up with a good acceptable amount in your fv for the start of fermentarion depending on its size. Even if you have to adjust your brew length to say 19 or 20 litres. Far better to end up with some head space available for an active ferment without it going everywhere.
Of course you can always get a bigger fermentation vessel.... :grin: if you can fit it in the brew fridge etc,
I am just greedy i guess!
I normally spilt it into 2 FV's, but I bought a new FV and the guy in the shop said it was bigger than it actually was, so I thought I would get enough head space!
Not got a brew fridge yet so no worries there ........... yet
