Hi guys,

Today i'm going to be trying to brew Graham Wheelers version of Old Speckled Hen. I've made a few slight grain and hop weight alterations to the recipe to get it in line with Brewmate as the ABV & EBU were slightly off.

Look forward to seeing how it turns out. :)

done it a couple of times...lovely quaity beer.. :thumb:

Well it has to be better than the real thing, right?

Yeah, the real thing is not my favourite beer by any means, but the recipe matched the ingredients i have at hand so i thought i'd give it a go. Hoping i'm pleasantly surprised by the AG home version. :)

as far as I am aware the original recipe of the Morelands brew is as follows :-

5.2% ABV, with an OG of 1050 Pipkin Pale Malt as a base, Crystal Malt, brewers sugar, Challenger hops for bitterness, Goldings and Challenger for aroma with a range of 30-35 IBUs of bitterness.

Unless you know different Jim...
