Had my best brew day so far re equipment no problems at all. did a 19litre brew and was aiming for 1.042
What I got was 17 litres at 1.042 oh well looks like son will be supping a few litres less...

I normally get my hops from the Malt Miller, but I purchased a 113gm pac of Styrian Golding from my lhbs. Its by Youngs in a gold foil pac.
I thought I'd bought the wrong thing and got a slab of chewing tobacco ... talk about a solid block of compressed hops !.
I had to use a hammer and chisel to break pieces off to put on the scales ! Give me Robs silver foiled vacuum packets any day...
