Well you just never know do you. Had planned to brew today but when my expected delivery did not arrive yesterday brew day was cancelled

At 11am today Mrs Snail found a Sorry we tried to deliver notice between the letterbox flap and the internal draught excluder. So a quick trip to the post office and todays brew day of BIG KENNY is back ON.

Pictures to follow.

Mash is on :thumb:

Just weighed out the hops that were in with the grain order and I have just discovered I did not order yeast with the grains :?

So this will be fermented with a packet of YOUNGS ALE YEAST that I have in the cupboard  (mental note to self always have extra yeast in store)

excellent!

I feel the space between the flaps of the letter box needs a name!

Now lets see it is a hole between two flaps that you stick things in.... hmmm

So do I Eddie. It looks good so far. Just sparging now. Yours looks nice. Hope the Lady coming to view the bungalow is not an anti alchohol type cause its going to be mid boil when she gets here

OK Boil on so time to put some pic's on.

sorry for hi-jacking your thread mick  you can have it back

Just had a little check on the Kenny and its fermenting away nicely. Has anyone got any Idea what strain of yeast Youngs Ale Yeast is as it seams to be doing a good job.

Checked the gravity tonight and its stuck at 1.020 after 9 days so ive given it a stir see if it kicks off again. Then I thought I dont know if it is stuck as I dont know how low it will go useing Youngs Ale Yeast. Anyone know??????????.

What did this turn out like? Can you give an opinion on the Youngs Ale yeast?

It turned out amazing one of the best pints I have had. That still holds true even though Im now into double figures on AG brews (and have brewed an award winner) but Kenny is a beer I will brew again as I beleive it is a truley great beer and worked well even with the youngs Ale yeast.
