The last brewday I had was in October! :(

Since then the brewery has been totally redesigned and I've grown up a TON of yeast.........so I'm itching to go. The plan is to make the final tweaks to the new brewery and leak-test, etc on Saturday. Going to get more propane, etc on Saturday after tweaking the brewery then on Sunday I'll be good to go with..........

I'm like a kid. I genuinely can't wait. I've really missed the brewing process and the end results obviously!

I get the same in the run up to a brewday - its great isn't it?

Your recipe looks great - right up my alley!

Have a good brewday!

Yeh I miss it. Brewed every two weeks last year and then took a break over Xmas.

This Sunday will be good.

Awesome receipe. I love Amarillo! Have a great brewday

EDIT: That grain bill looks lush too! I will be watching this one with interest...

Wee change of recipe. I was going to use Cali V Ale yeast but I have some Cry Havoc on the stir plate growing up and that'll be ready Sat night. That won't leave me enough time to grow up the originally planned yeast strain.

No big deal though as I'd been looking forward to trying Cry Havoc so I'm happy.

Could build another stir plate though! Hmmmm. Thinking now.

Ok - here goes. First brew in 4 months.............

Reason for lay-off has been that I had a ton of beer in stock so didn't need to brew and also took the opportunity to totally upgrade my system. Could easily brew 80 litre batches now which is ace......but completely over the top. Awesome.

Here's my new mash tun and false bottom :

And here's the new sparge frame. First up full then throttled back so I can dial in the correct flow rate :

Expecting my chilling time to be a lot lower than normal as the mains water feed is f*cking freezing :

Room for some more?! Doing a 40 litre batch and not even nearly half way up! Love it

Was shooting for 65c but as it's SO cold today and I haven't re-filled the cavity on the bottom of the mash tun yet I expect temp loss to be 1 or 2c so I decided to leave it at 66c.

Will post back later during sparge, etc.

Here's the updated recipe with slightly higher amount of biscuit malt and change of yeast to Cry Havoc.

Hi Kev

what pump do you use to assist in your under-letting ?
