hi abey,

both the tom caxton and the brewferm raspberry are great brews, both very tasty in their own ways and well worth the money

Hi

agreat brew session lastnight, think this is gonna be a nice drop, supposed to come out at 4.9%, but may be a little stronger, as the og was 1052, video being editing now, so will post link later

cheers

49er really needs a classic british ale yeast for that fruitiness. windsor if you want to go packet or wlp005 if you want to go liquid :thumb:

sorry, just read that you brewed already. so4 will make a cracking beer anyway but from memory 49er had a fruity flavour that you get from a british ale yeast.

kl thanks for replying JB, I can't want to try the real ale, will maybe give it a try next sunday just to see how its coming along for quality control measures!

I'm a little scared away from using windsor, my mate has two barrels using windsor, and both are not clearing, one was barrelled in about august, both look like pea soup, he's added isinglass and that does not appear to be working either, the yeast is just hanging about

s-o4 will give you a good result, i tend to use s-o4 for bitters that aren`t overly hopped or sometimes nottingham but i find this can take away hop flavours a bit. I haven`t tried windsor but have heard good things :thumb:

personally i dont like windsor, I use nottingham a lot for my brewing. Windsor does have the fruitiness needed for a good clone but it is a pain for clearing.

well finally kegged, been trying to get some more action from the yeast, seems to have been stuck at 1020, for a few days, tried the obvious, stirring ect and nothing happened, so kegged at 1020, not to bad that still gives me a beer of around 4.2%
