Tomorrow ill be brewing my MATCHLESS COMP BREW - FOOLS GOLD.

Style - APA

Brewlength - 23ltr
Expected OG - 1049
Expected FG - 1012
Expected ABV - 4.9%
Expected IBU - 28.7
Expected SRM - 6.7
Mash minutes - 60 minutes
Mash water ratio - 2.5L/Kg
Mash temp - 68oC
Boil minutes - 60 minutes

This will be a first for me as it will be my first full mash AG, My previous 2 have been the BIAB method.
Also it will be the first time ive used more than one type of hops. Everything arrived last night from MATCHLESS HOMEBREW. Ian and Anne come good yet again, they drove all the way from Coalville to deliver them. THANK YOU AGAIN. :clap: AND THE GIRLS SAY THANK YOU FOR THE CHOCOLATE. :thumb:

5kg maris otter
250g melanoidin
250g torrefied wheat
180g carapils
80g biscuit

17.4g aurora super styrians 8.1% 60 minutes
15g nelson sauvin 11.3% 30 minutes
15g cascade 8% 30 minutes
15g nelson sauvin 11.3% 5 minutes
1 packet of English ale yeast or S04 (still undecided on which one to use)

Best of luck with the brew :thumb: .I had one of AT's fools gold last year and it was top class. Still probably best homebrew I tasted. I must actually make it myself sometime, yet to use nelson hops.

Disaster strikes, :oops: just decided to give my mash tun a quick test, and the bloody things leaking. A large split about 5 inches long all the way down the one side. So it looks like im back to the BIAB method again. :(

ive took it all apart and and used some epoxy resin and silicon sealant on the outside to see if that will seal it up. As asda have stoped stocking the coolboxes now and started on the christmas stuff.
 
Well the mash-tun didnt dry in time :( . But that didnt stop me brewing.
