Tommorrows brew ( if its not pi$$ing it down still  ) Gonna do a 40litre brew to use up some open and old hops - which are mainly high aa hops, so i`m going to do a 40litre brew and hopefully end up with a nice light tasty session ale - will be quite grapefruity with 50grams of chinook in it  Currently doing a bit of research on belgian trappist ales ( reading and drinking ;) ) so need to order some different grains / hops etc to do some belgian brews shortly - tommorrows brew will use up all my opened hops

Have a good one Rick, looks an interesting list of ingredients, but then all your brews look interesting :thumb:

Hop all goes well. SORRY mean HOPE all goes well with this one Rick  .

Had an interesting experience last night Rick. Went to meet a couple of people and tried a pint of FOOL'S NOOK very hoppy but not bitter and I have to admit I liked it  was dissapointed I could only have one as there was none left when I went back for a 2nd.

Might have to try some more well hopped beer's.

Mick you might be pleasantly suprised how some really high IBU beers aren`t overly bitter - but highly flavoured as you noted, the beer you had last night sounds lovely  Rick`s Revenge has been bottled about 10days and one will soon be in the post for you as promised - you`ll be brewing something hoppy soon maybe
The chinook i`m using today are very fruity and the hops in Rick`s Revenge (chinook and nelson sauvin) will leave your mouth watering for more.........i want one for breakfast

Up earlyish...... ;) Mash tun lid was shut just before 7:30am - new thermometer used today as old one was a bit knackered and possibly a bit unreliable! Mashing at just around 67degrees c, hops weighed out ready for a good boiling and making the kitchen smell great

the small additions of amber, munich and crystal have given a lovely golden colour.

One of my elements cut out today but looks OK have cleaned it and given it a test boil with water, seems to be working fine so hope it doesn`t break midboil next brewday :nono:
I have a big kenny which will be ready for bottling midweek so I have a good 110plus pints to bottle up in total

Around 80pints conditioning in the spare room as well so stocks are looking good

Checked the brew today and the smaller bucket had a really nasty smell :( smelt this before with one brew that went **** up, its a really strong almost acetone smell - it tastes how it smells and makes me want to
The larger FV is fine though :wha: so hope it stays that way - the other one is down the drain, just hope the infection or whatever it is was just in the one FV
