I made this yesterday when i was bored.
I know i was going to make a Deuchars IPA but i decided to do yet another lager as the brewing room doesnt get past 14c at the mo, so its ideal for brewing lager. Plus i wanted to use up the very last bits of lager stuff.
Only problem i had was my run off from the mash got stuck. Took a few attempts at blowing up the tap to get it going again.
60 min boil.
OG 1042. aim anywhere between 1035 - 1055
Final vol 30L + 4L of trubby wort (in DJ. None going to waste).
2 x 15L 1 dry hopped, 1 normal.
3.923kg Marris Otter
259g Carapils
263g Flaked Maize
500g Glucose
1 whirlfloc tablet.
Full boil hops
40g Saaz
40g Hallertau
Last 20 min hops
12g Saaz
32g Hallertau
25g Northern Brewer
1L of S-23 Lager yeast slurry from a previous brew.
In less than 3 hours i had a big thick krausen in each FV.
