Admiral hops.

Just found an unopened vac pack of Admiral hops I'd forgotten about. Normally when I try a hop for the first time I tend to go for a single hop, just wondering if any one has tried it as a single hop.

nope, not tried on its own as its really just a bittering hop, no really it imparts nuthin as far as i could gather, which is why its so useful

I tried Admiral as a SMASH IPA which turned out quite nice. The bitterness is lovely, I found it does an reasonable job as flavor hop but needs the assistance of another flavor/aroma hop in my opinion. I'm going to do this again as I really liked the base bitterness and flavor from Admiral but not yet decided which flavor/aroma hop to pair it with.
