hi everyone , i am making my first cider kit , i chose muntons autumn gold and followed the instructions and all was going well until i noticed it only makes 30 pints and not 40 pints like the lager kit i am doing but by this time i had put almost 20 litres in the mix instead of 17litres ,so im have about 5 pints extra , in a panic i added 200grams of sugar to try and keep the brew at the 5% it should have been. i realise this will have diluted the flavour a bit but hopefully i will still have something nice to drink at the end. Does anyone have any advice for me and what im i likely to end up with . thanks in advance .

advice ?
Yep read the instructions thoroughly when your starting.

You should be ok but it will probably be a weaker tasting cider

It'll be OK, maybe a bit thin, not quite as good as it should have been, but it'll be OK.

i will pay more attention in future , i had read the instructions but for some reason unknow to me i got carried away and then i got this terrible feeling you get when something twigged and you know you have made a mistake , the cold realisation that it was damaged limitation and £26 potentially wasted was a downer , i wont mention the mistake to the missus it will just give her something to moan about .

hi , i thought about that , where can i get this from ,will i have to go to a homebrew shop or can this be bought at the supermarket , sorry if its a stupid qustion but i dont know . If its easy got hold of then i would try that.

Trouble with apple juice is it has loads of water along with the sugar and apple, so it doesn't really help much
And you've already added sugar so you don't really want any more. You might try apple concentrate (wholefood shops) as it wouldn't up the volume so much but that has lots of sugar too
I'd stick with what you have and call it a learning experience: it'll be perfectly drinkable
