Anyone else wonder how this got in there?

what was it, lump of mud ? birds egg. ? or a pebble ? I would send the photo off to where you bought your hops from...they might sent you a replacement

A small pebble, didn't concern me too much, hops get boiled so I'm sure it won't have any effect on taste or sanitisation.

Will email the producer, if I'm lucky I might get a free pack of hops.

I emailed the producer of Kenridge Classic Vieux Chateaux de Roi in Canada about a maggot I found rehydrated in my brew (after tipping in my elderberry additions) - I didn't find it until I was taking the gravity to see if it had finished.

They arranged for me to get a complete kit replacement - all £46 of it!!

Good service indeed, although I wasn't that bothered and only let them know out of interest / amusement on my part. :thumb:

I would get in touch with the supplier immediately, after all you've paid Hop prices for the weight of a pebble and I know that pebbles are cheaper than hops.
