Knocked a 3/4 pint glass of stout over our laptop 2 nights ago. Got the towels out and the hairdryer and im glad to say it still works. Keyboard is a bit stiff though. Just hope it carries on working too :thumb:

oooh bad un , i did this about a year ago , some of the keys began to stick .It took a while to get right , i panicked and thought that was the end of the key board but luckily all wells

I've done my iPhone4 twice...

...one pint of water first, that stopped some bits working for a while. Couple of days on a radiator and that fixed it.

...one pint of Burton Bridge Porter next, that stopped lots from working. Couple of days on a radiator... perfect!

I'm trying really hard to avoid a "third time unlucky" situation!

I washed my USB stick a couple of times. First time I dried it in the oven on a very low setting next time I used the hot air coming out of my laptop. I also dropped my digital thermometer in a demijohn once and I could not grab it so I had to quickly pour it into a jug. I had to take the whole thing apart and wipe/clean all the internal parts because they were sticky. Now i have to replace the heat sink paste because it is has a really slow reacting time when you use it.
Putting things you dropped in water into dry rice is good because it sucks the moisture out.

I went into the sea with a BlackBerry Pearl in my pocket ( I was drunk if that's a defence for total stupidity ) - needless to say it never really worked again - I learnt after to get the battery out as soon as you get phones wet - vastly increases your chance of it working again

Not so easy with an apple device!!!

Salt water is the killer, it eats electronics. I've heard of the rice thing working before. Silica gel is also brilliant if you can get your hands on a decent quantity. Catsan is another really good one...

...new, fresh, straight from the bag, Catsan of course...

My kids left their laptop balancing on the arm of the sofa. Then the dog jumped on the couch and knocked it off. Needless to say it doesn't work now.

Mind you it was on its way out and I had promised them a new one.
