Radical brewing (a bit on mead, lot on beer, it's GOOD)
The compleat meadmaker (a lot on mead, it's THE book)
Brew it yourself (entry level on everything, my first book, it is okay)

You seem to have a reasonable lot of experience, haven't you got satisfying sources on wines and the like?

Thanks ill have a look,
I wanted something to read and to give me a few ideas as im planning on trying to brew something other than ale soon but wouldn't mind having it written down

In that case Brew it yourself is the better one. But maybe other brewers here have also suggestions?
Anyway I attached the index.

GerritT, I bought Radical Brewing on the strength of your recommendation. It arrived 2 days ago and I haven't put it down. Not much on process, but a great read on beer, lots of recipes and loads of enthusiasm for homebrew .

It's also quite funny and witty.

Great book .
