Popped across the border into Germany today and found some 500ml brown flip tops for a total of 75cents with free beer in them!

Bought one as a sample, but to be honest at that price I wouldn't feel too bad about chucking the beer away if it was truly awful!

I also saw that they were selling crates of 330ml (I think) flip tops too. But the deposit was 9€ which pushed up the price to about 30€ for 18 bottles plus crate.

Next week I might take a closer look.

Beer in flip-top bottles tends to be quite expensive in most areas of Germany. I still have a case which I bought more than 10 years ago in Germany, just replaced some of the seals. Normally I take back just a case of very cheap beer in normal 500ml bottles. I generally get away with about €10 for a case of 20 including deposit.
