Popped in the local co-op and saw 1l cartons of the children's drink 5 alive. Thought to myself, will this brew and at 29p a carton I thought id give it a go! 4 cartons straight into the dj, small bag of sugar, yeast and nutrients and off she went! Bubbling well this morning, so the waiting begins!

Anyone else tried this?

I can't remember seeing this juice used, how much juice was in the carton and does it have preservatives.

Finally got around to bottling this wine, a beautiful colour and really drinkable! I'll deffo be doing this again!

I've used some non descript fruit juices out of date at the local shop, I've boiled them if they have preserves and added sugar as you did, and never had a problem.

Good fillers when you're itching to watch something brew .

No, I got my hands on gervin strains 4-13 for 25p each. So I've experimented using different strains. With carton juice and plums and peaches and well anything I can get my hands on to keep me out of trouble with the missus. :-)

The GV6 sauternes is particularly good. I used it in a dandelion mead. Very nice!
