When you say steep the hops at 80 degrees do you add at 80 degrees and continue cooling or add at 80 degrees for X minutes and then continue cooling?

Ridley

cool to 80C then add hops and steep for 20-30 mins maintaining the 80C then cool as normal

Ok I'm brewing this this weekend. I've played with it to take into account my BIAB efficiency. Any chance you could give this the once over?

Cheers

No worries, Have not brewed it yet, although I did have 2.5Kg of oats in the oven yesterday roasting nicely. I now have three days off work so should be able to fit the brew in sometime :D

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yes

I did the elderberry stout (which is basically a souped up EOMS) with an over night mash. Make sure your tun is well insulated then throw on a few more sleeping bags and blankets, and make sure you have hit your mash temp, or a little higher as there is only one way with the temp on an overnight mash.

Smashing! 1st overnight mash for AG #5 then! Just need to plan it in,
Is 10-12 hrs too long for an overnight mash?

Another question (sorry!) how much Liquor for an overnight mash? and which type of sparge is best for an overnighter? I have only fly sparged so far.

Thanks Gray's ;)

Just playing with iBrewmaster on phone and its suggesting:

Glucan rest [email protected] = 20mins @44.4C

Overnight mash [email protected]=600 mins @68C

does that sound about right?
