After a bit of a disaster 2nd brew day, where the pump broke and ended up with some of the grain bill overflowing the basket and blocking up the bazooka, i fitted a new pump, this time goijg for a Vevor. I decided late in the day that I'd have a brewday as I didn't have much on.
So my grain bill was 4kg Maris Otter Pale, 200g Caramalt, 200g chocolate malt and 200g rice hulls.
Aimed for a 19l haul it plugged everything in Brewfather and off we went.
I'd got a 100g of Endeavour from the Malt Miller lucky dip so we

10 at flameout whirlpool for 10 mins.
The other 40g will be dry hopped.
The pre boil was more than expected and 1046 with a post boil og of 1051 so I think my boil off needs adjustment.
I've pitched a sachet of S-04.
I've manged to get 20l in the fermenter which is what I was aiming at, I just think my brew house efficiency is better.
Well impressed with the Rice Hulls, I remembered to turn off the recirc pump which meant I could get the grain bill in without issue and broken up. The hulls then meant I could leave the pump circulating once the bill was all soaked.
A few photos of progress along the day.
I've no idea what this is going to taste like at all and the chocolate has made the wort very dark.
Looks like it might be a Jiff's brewery Christmas special ale!!
