Not bad at all. I've been toying with upping the ingredients by X amount to get closer to the 42 flip-tops that fit nicely in three milk crates. My only slight consideration is removing that safety margin in the FV. It's a 7.9 gallon so basically three gallons of space to ensure I never need a blow-off tube. I find the idea of needing a blow-off tube unappealing.it was a 19 litre brew so the rest went to the slight spillage and what was left in the FV. not too bad overall.
My BYO magazine, full of clone recipes, says, "batch size: 5g or 19l" at the top of each recipe so I'm assuming that we're making the same amount. 36-37 (500ml of course) is about where I get if I strain the hops when putting the beer into the FV (due to the space those expanded hops take up).
My bottle wand has only mutinied once on me with about a cup spraying hither and yon. I was still pretty mad about it.
Cheers!
