Hi all, I've a 30L Brewmonk and a 3-tap Kegerator that uses 19L corny kegs. So far I've been brewing batches that work out by final liquid volume for the 19L cornys. I was wondering if I made, say 30L batches by doubling up on grain to keep the sugar content the same, could I top up with water to make 2x 19L (15L mash + 4L water)? Not trying to make 2 different recepies at the same time, just making more of the same. It's awfully time consuming to just have 19L beer to show for it!

I'm a relative newbie so apologies if this is a stupid question but any advice appreciated.

Thanks, Glenn

It would be more feedable to add brewing sugar so as to increase the OG of the wort for dilution purposes as with it only being 30l it will be tight for grain space but it's surely possible.
I had a 30l Burco boiler and found this an issue but then added a 52l mash tun which give great capacity for either big beers or double batches.
When setting up your recipe you can scale your grain back and supplement with brewing sugar aiming for 21l to your fermenter plus boil of then brew your grains as normal but add the sugar later in the boil as the longer it's boiling the more it will likely caramelise leaving a darker wort.
