Hi guys.
So my first home brew is ready for bottling. Tastes good although flat!
My question is... Half a tea spoon of normal granulated auger per 500ml bottle or... 1.5 of the carbonation drops I was supplied with???

Coopers Australian lager by the way.

Please advise.

Phill

depends what the brew is lager needs 4 or 5 gms per 500ml bottle
ale needs 2 or 3 gms per bottle

Help me out here!! It's a lager. I don't have any measures or measured equipment!

half a teaspoon ( level ) for beer...level teaspoon for lager

get better prepared next time

I measure out the required sugar, you could try the method where you add it to a little of the brew which is taken out of the fermentation vessel, warm it up so that the sugar dissolves, add it back to the brew and gently stir, then bottle. Make sure that all utensils are sterilised and you should be fine...

Ok, that's not very helpful, I know  , you just want a simple - drops or teaspoon answer, but it's all trial and error and to your personal taste.

Make a decision, see how it pans out and then learn from it, or why not do 50/50 and mark the tops of the bottles that had the drops, set two aside to test and see which works best for you... :P

Grumpy jack,

A fine idea, and one I was considering.
Thanks for the suggestion though and the advice.
When you buy these kits they don't tell you what other equipment you need. I guess I will add and keep adding as I go along.

Cheers guys.
