They are 2014 but at these prices you can up the volumes. Exact AA not specified, I assume it will be on delivery but cascade is 4.5-7 and target 9.5-12.5. delivery cost to me £2.10 per 2Kg + to you £3.99 by my hermes or any other service you want at cost. so total for a Kg of each £15.96 delivered to your door thats under 80p per 100g.
They will be from http://simplyhops.co.uk/ I have added VAT as I assume it will be added to there prices. I don't have a vacuum packer so will be sent loose in carrier bags quickly after receiving them, I will ask my butcher how much he wants for vacuum packing and add this info shortly.

Forgot to say can change to whole hop if a majority prefers and in theres enough interest add Citra £15.34Kg + VAT &/or Mosaic £11.53 Kg + VAT and will rework delivery if there added. I'm also interested to here if your put off by them being 2014.

Nice one Simon :thumb:

One way to 'vac pac' without a vacpacker is to get some oxygen eaters and some mylar bags from ebay. Then put a couple (perhaps more than a couple if the mylar bag is big) of the oxygen eaters in the mylar bag with the hops and seal the bag with an iron (or some hair straighteners if Mrs Simon12 has some). The oxygen eaters will then consume the oxygen in the bag. Forumites could also of course do this themselves once they recieve the hops if you dont send them out vacpacked

Cheers MyQul had never heard of oxygen eaters before. Anyone know if I could get 500g of pellets in a 20x30cm bag?

I,m going to visit Larkins brewery next week so can collect it at the same time so call it £15 for 1Kg of each loose or £17 vacuum sealed as long as at least 3 people are interested by the end of this weekend.

Me neather until I started to investigate alternatives to vacpackers as I can't afford one. I learned about oxygen eaters on a youtube vid by a 'prepper'. A prepper is a quite insane American who is convinced that some sort of apocalypse is just around the corner so must be 'prepared' for it. By doing things like storing large quantites of dried food in mylar bags. Do a search for 'prepper vids on youtube and you'll be quite amazed at what some people believe

Its not looking promising this will go ahead now but I just spoke to my butchers and I can reduce the vacuum sealed price by £1 making it £16 for 1Kg of each vacuum sealed in 500g packs.

It's great that you are putting yourself out for everyone ...:thumb:... but I have to give your offer a miss because a) I don't use much more than 2 kilos of varied hops in a year and b) Just last week I took delivery of enough hops to last me until mid-Summer.

I hope it goes well though, because at those prices a major home-brewer should be ripping you arm off!:gulp:

If I can be cheeky and get the hops in 4x 500g bags then I'm in. Not a massive fan of Target, so I'll look at it as 1kg of cascade (Yay!) with 1kg of Target chucked in free :hat:

Looks like its not going to happen this week anyway, if a few more people are interested please post and I will maybe organise at a later date.

I bought some cheap old hops recently and the beers I made have not been great. One has developed a smoky flavour that was not present when bottled. Compared to the quality of cml hops they are miles apart with aroma. GB sell some 2016 hops for £18 a kilo.

What are CML hops?

Cheers, just had a look and there prices are good compared to normal home brew suppliers but compared to this 900g cascade is £23.26 and 900g target £22.87 about 3 times the price for 200g less. Anyway consider this offer dead for now and I will look to do a much bigger group buy late March if I get planning permission for my micro pub/brewery.

Hey Simon

If you go ahead with this, I have a vacuum sealer, and plenty of spare bags.

Let me know if that would be helpful, having said that if your butcher is only charging 25p per bag it might not be worth the trouble of doing it yourself.

Think Beercats hops above might have been from me, appologies, if your beer didn't turn out well. Have to say, though, that I made some great beers with none of the smoky flavour.

Simon, one thing to watch out for on postage is that 4x 500g of hops will weigh more that 2kg once packaged. I got stung for excess postage on some of the hops I sent out. Worth ensuring you pay for 2.1/2.2kg of postage up front.....

If this is still a goer Id be intrested in the cascade, or Citra or mosaic would be amazing

I am going down that way again next week, so if theres enough interest this time we can go ahead. Some prices have changed and since its the best deal and got most interest I will look to do cascade only unless theres enough requests for the others, I have selected 2 other hops that look especially good value. So to keep it simple I will get it all vacuum sealed in 500g packs (or on request 450g to keep it in the lower postage bracket ie 1 x 500g + 1 x 450g to keep in the £2.80 postage or 2 x 500g would be £3.99 delivery)
Prices for 500g packs any quantity you want
Cascade 2014 £3.25
Target 2015 £2.80
Target 2017 £4.60
Simcoe 2015 £11
Simcoe 2017 £16

Delivery
<1Kg £2.80
1-2Kg £3.99
2-5Kg 6.49

Payment by direct bank transfer after I have confirmed I have them ready. Please post what you want below and if theres enough interest next week I will add details to proceed.

If you see any other hops you like the look of on simply hops you would like me to add let me know but unless you want a large amount yourself its unlikely.
