No mate, they only have metric on there site. When i used to work in the printing industry we used to use them all them time, and they do sell imperial fittings. Just give them a call and see.

Don't know exactly what you are up to, but when I wanted to mount immersion heaters in my SS boiler, I bought a 2 1/4 inch socket from BES, and used a thin cutting disc to slice it into three, not checked on site but from memory it was 60ish mm long so got my two bosses and a spare for about £30 all in. (Perhaps could have got four with care )
Tig mate then stuck em to the boiler. ;) You could slice them thinner and face up in a lathe if you really want nuts?

Ah ha. I forgot you'd done that. I looked at the half sockets with the same idea, but no 2 1/4", but I see they do them in full sockets.

I'm not too fussed about nuts, I just want it to lock a heater in. Nuts would be easier though rather than bu**ering around around with a strap wrench, which I've had enough of.

Nuts are savage dear to make, unless your making loads of them they start off as hex bar or each flat is done on the mill with an indexer from round bar, avoid if you can to get one made. Anything off the shelf is a better option cost wise.

One of my steel suppliers quoted me over €400 for 1M of 316 in 60x85mm tube for doing the 2 1/4 sockets, I said eeerrr no thanks. It is too thick to seam weld by normal tube manufacture so they also make it from solid, they also bore it out to size. Still looking. Any idea what the wall thickness is on the BES sockets, my reason for going 85x60 is to try and prevent pulling on the socket when welding and locking the thread, I may just being over cautious again.

just measured up a BES socket on my boiler and got it to a shade over 76 mm and then noticed it was a dead 3 inch ;)
From memory a 2 inch and a 2 1/2in inch socket was about £12 - £14 at BES, the 2 1/4, as a none standard was £25 :(
I diddled about for to long before I took the plunge, but wish I had cut it into 4 and got a spare pair. Could have put them on ebay at £12 each.

I have posted it before, but I know you lads like a bit of brew porn to "masticate" over, think I got that right, don't want to end up like E did.
