Good day,

Looking to get back into brewing after a fairly long break.18 months approximately. I think I can still remember what to do! Maiden brew will be an Irish red and considering this recipe.

Thoughts on Special B in an Irish Red? Never done it but feel it could work.

Is this for a 40/50ltr batch?
If so it looks ok to me I have used Special B it gives a toffee caramel and raisin taste.
There are no rules in beer style unless you are entering a competition when it then needs to be true to style but I have used Special B and other grains where technically they should not be used just remember its your beer and brew it to your taste.
I have also done whirlpools in ales /bitter styles and it does seem to mellow and help to smooth out hop taste in the beer if that is to your taste.

Yes, 50 litres and it was the caramel and raisins that I was hoping to get in there. Cheers
