I wanted a simmerstat but didn't want to drill holes in the base of the Ace and invalidate the warranty so came up with this idea.
It works well.
I got the plug socket, box and cable through work. So was free.
Simmerstat cost me ã6.00.
And the button was ã3.80.
I guess had I paid full price then project could have cost about ã25.
