I've got a few left overs from recent brews and thought I'd have a go at an IPA recipe.

It's my first attempt so any comments welcome

Apart from your bittering addition those hops are American. I am only saying this as you state English IPA on the recipe sheet..You not bothered what style ipa it is?

Would only need to tweak the hops to say something like cascade and target to make it an IPA not an APA

still nice though

Yeah, I know they're American hops, but I just want to use up some left overs. Just want an IPA style.

Will knock it up when I get some room (next weekend if the mrs and kids leave me alone for long enough )

Tweaked this somewhat, especially once I realised that I was looking at doiing a partial mash recipe when I intended to do BIAB!

Anyway, this was supposed to be something to use up some left over grain and hops, and also be my first foray into using Brewers Friend to make a recipe of my own.

OG was actually 1062 when BF stated 1060

In honour of our win tonight and the fact that West Ham is currently populated by a majority of people from the sub-continent (also our last season in this location). I think I'll call this Green Street IPA.

(No photos because my phone was running low on juice.)

So QC check after 3 weeks in the bottle (2 secondary fermenting and 1 week in the cold). Very hoppy as befitting an AIPA. Real zing of Citra. Quite a dark colour - almost burnt amber if that makes sense.

Cant put up photos when using tapatalk for some reason, so will add when I go on my lap top

And do you like it?

Of course (but o was trying to remain objective😉)

Never one to back down from a discussion...

On a personal note, it was my first recipe that id made up myself, so I'm probably a little biased.

It's still young, so needs a few more weeks in the cold to fully condition and clarify.

I liked the hop taste and aroma that I got from the late addition of Citra. I suspect this will fade after a while and leave a bitterness which I hope will not be akin to sucking concrete.

I'm on bottle #4 tonight already, so we'll see if lasts long enough!

It's great to create your own recipes. It's what I love about brewing. It's a big learning curve!

Agreed. This was my first use of liquid yeast too. I substituted the S-04 which i was originally going to use with a Wyeast 1272.

After doing a few kits, it was you @clibit that got me doing my first AG back in August. Since then I've done another 5 and I'm already planning #6.
