Thanks for your reply and will keep the recipe for another time. Instead I chucked in about 5 pounds of plums, a couple of pounds of apples and a pound of chopped raisins to see what we get. Stoning the plums was easy after thawing the fruit.

An after holiday update. I took 6 x 2 litre bottles of Wilkinsons Golden Ale to Gairloch in PET bottles. After a day's walking, another two miles to the pub sometimes wasn't on. Taking ian808's advice we decanted the beer into a jug first before pouring into glasses. Brilliant result...

I've been really impressed by the results of this kit. My taste, however is more inclined towards the St Peter's Golden Ale as it is less hoppy but you don't know until you find out.

Can anyone help please. I am making cranberry wine (hopefully) from scratch. Having transferred the mixture into a demi john there is about a pint remaining. Can I do anything with this or does it go down the sink.
