    californian connoisseur

Totally agree but this is much dryer than the last batch. Suppose I'd best put it in a few DJs and forget about it for a year.

    californian connoisseur

Just finished brewing my second 30 bottle batch of californian connoisseur Sav Blanc and it's turned out dryer than Gandhi's flip flops. Not a happy bunny.

    Cleaning bottles

Hi all Just wondering how you all go about cleaning and sterilising your wine bottles prior to bottling? Got 120 bottles that need doing tomorrow. Easiest way of doing it would be best as I'm a lazy person. Cheers

    Best priced kits

Morning all. Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a well priced site selling premium wine kits. I can't remember what site I bought my last batch of Californian Connoisseur.

    Siphoning / siphon

Hi all. I currently use a very basic syphon. Basically a 9m hose and with plastic piping and a raised inlet. I'm finding it a real pain in the **** standing there for 15 minutes. Surely there must be something out thee a bit better. Cheers in advance

    Shopping

Would love to use the sponsors but.... That Ballihoo stuff is shockingly expensive and dreadful quality. When I say dreadful I mean shocking - steer well clear. Hopefully this won't get removed - or worse me :-)

    Shopping

Been keeping my eye out for ages. Typically before I got into this you couldn't move for DJs at car boots or in charity shops. Now I want one there's none about. What online stores do you use for other bits and bobs? Cheers

    Screw top wine bottles

Can someone point me in the direction of where I can find bobs beer or buy some screw caps online? Thanks in advance

    Shopping

Hi all. As I'm pretty new to this I was just wondering which online home-brew shops you prefer? I'm looking at getting some Demi johns.

    Corks

Hi all I'm quite new to this wonderful game. I'm after a little advice. I recently finished my first two batches for 30 bottle brews. First was a Californian Conissuer Sav Blanc andante a Pinot Noir. The both batches were bottled into a mixture of old tradition and screw cap wine bottles...

    Grape vines

Thanks you so much for this. It makes complete sense. So to sum it up it's basically exactly the same as any allotment produce. I think everything I grow on my allotment works out expensive at best bloody expensive at worse. I dread to think how much each egg from my chickens cost! But...

    Grape vines

Hi all. Was just ordering if anyone grows their own grapes? I've got a fare amount of space on the allotment and was thinking of doing a few rows. If so what vines do you grow and what sort of yield do you get. In short is it worth it? Cheers

First time racking - advice needed PLEASE!

Hi all As above I'm racking off California Connoisseur - Pinot Noir 5 gallon. I'm about to do the first rack off after 8 days. Now from the instructions I can't make out if I need to seal the bucket with a bung or replace the air lock. I'm more than likely just being thick. Here's a link...

    Bubbly

I'm very very new to brewing. In fact I've not actually drunk anything I've brewed. Still watching and waiting for my first 60 bottles finish. As such you'll gather I know nothing so this is probably going to be a stupid question but... Can you buy a decent home brew kit for bubbly. My...

    Help..... :-(

Thanks a million for taking the time to reply. The big thing I have learnt is read, read and read the instructions again.... I've just added a bit of sugar as suggested. Fingers crossed... Cheers

    Help..... :-(

Hi all New to the forum. I fear I've made a stupid beginners mistake. I started my first wine 5 days ago. (California Connoisseur - Pinot Noir 5 gallon Wine Kit). As I didn't see much bubble action I thought I would re-read the instructions for the 10th time. It was then that I realised...
