    They are almost surely using traditional continental stepped mash (60 -66 - 72 - 78). But i would completely ignore that if i was you . I do remember reading somewhere that they brew with rather soft water.

    water stains in syphon tube

    Could be, yes. Used to have the same problem. Got rid of it after i used (by change) an acidic sanitizer on my tubes/siphon. Now i use acidic 1 in 5 times and don't have the stains anymore. Don't ask me for scientific explanation.

    Does torrified wheat has diastatic power ? If not, you only have 30% malt to convert the lot. Talking about Belgian Witbier - to be allowed to legally call a beer a witbier, max. +/- 40 % of extract can come from wheat.

    Hi, Oily in the sense of like higher viscosity than normal in beer (even when body is thinnish). Could that be oats ?? Piet.

    Personally i think that if you have to start making such kind of rules, something must have gone bad in the past. I mean 'Pub' is short for Public House - and in my view people don't normally go to public places to behave badly. (Well i don't). If people however do behave badly in public places...

    Every holiday i have in England it happens again. Me, the wife an my 14 year old son, are doing a long walk. Halfway we come across a pub and decide to have a quick drink. Only to be refused because of some no-kid policy. ???? So you think this is normal ???? Piet.
