    Pressure Barrel Advice

Hello All, thanks very much for your replies. I've discovered that I have a very minor leak around the tap screw, however it seems to have partially sealed itself by sugary beer drips! I have enough pressure to pull beer from it as it stands and is thoroughly delicious. I'll persevere with the...

    Pressure Barrel Advice

Thanks for the reply, it's vaselined up all ok, primed twice so I guess I must have a leak somewhere. I don't really want to waste my beer though.

    Pressure Barrel Advice

Hi All, a little helpful advice needed. I have a Wilkos Newkie Brown on the go and had it fermenting for 5 weeks, . I know I've had a problem with the valve and seal so I tightened it as much as I could and softened the seal in boiling water to refresh it prior to closing the cap but the barrel...

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

My batch was also cloudy on bottling but did clear after a moth or so.

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

Had a bottle of this last night, it's worth the wait. Beautifully complex beer that I'm really proud of. Like a lot of kits patience is rewarded.

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

I wet pitched as stated above and I brewed 20 litres as opposed to the 23. It has been in the FV for a full three weeks, I had a lower SG at 1040 than others in this thread and has now settled at 1002. I transferred to a secondary FV on Sunday to add the hops tea and will be priming and bottling...

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

A very interesting thread. I will be starting this kit this evening, I usually wet pitch my yeast but I note from the comments here that the yeast has a different characteristic from more traditional kits that I've experienced. Does anyone have any feedback on this?

    Hello All! Cheers

Been lurking around the forum for sometime now, picking up hints and tips from all. I'm now into my third brew, started with a Wherry and barrelled it, to be honest I neglected to prime it but it didn't last too long in the barrel anyway it was that good! I now have a Northumberland Brown Ale...

    Hello All! Cheers

Hello everyone! Newbie to both the forum and to home brewing. Well, I say new to brewing, as a student (20 years ago now!) we managed to produce quite a palatable drop but sadly the house mates lost all the kit so never really took it forward. Now, as an older and allegedly wiser man, I've...
