    Weston,s Old Rosie yeast starter.

I've got some Old Rosie TC going, it's the third or fourth batch since I took the yeast from the OR bottle and grew it on. This batch has been fermenting for three weeks now and is still going (fairly steady - about two bubbles a minute). Does this suggest the yeast is getting tired, needs more...

    Coopers Original Stout Review

Is there anything in treacle (other than fermentable sugars) that will raise the SG ?

    Coopers Original Stout Review

Well I transferred to another FV to get some air into it, added more nutrient & re-pitched. No obvious signs of activity yet, but it does look & smell good

sdgtiger Mine is a similar story, but seems to be stuck at 1015. I gave it a stir at the weekend but that hasn't moved anything. I'm thinking perhaps trying a re-pitch.

    Weston,s Old Rosie yeast starter.

My first TC with Old Rosie yeast and malic is on the go. I took the yeast sediment from one bottle of OR and added it to about 200mls of apple & cherry juice left over from a WOW with a bit of yeast nutrient. That was given a daily shake for about a week before cooling and draining (sorry...

    Breadmaker

I use a Kenwood Chef to do the hard work then I do the fun bit. I don't see the need for a breadmaker. I get excellent results without. If MIL knows I have been baking she's round like a shot

    Supermarket Merlot grape juice

My merlot effort currently has a fantastic colour in the DJ. I chopped & put a half bunch of red grapes into my elderflower wine as I thought I'd use them up rather than adding some sultanas. That has a lovely pink blush to it :D

    Coopers Original Stout Review

My gravity is down to 1015 from 1060. Does that really mean it's already 6 percent?

    Supermarket Merlot grape juice

I've just started one with 3 Waitrose merlot, one apple juice, tea & pectolase. It certainly smelt very good as it went in :) I added a bit of sugar, but typically I didn't get an OG reading.

    Coopers Original Stout Review

It's on the go :drink: OG reading was 1060 in the end. Adjusting for the unusually hot weather, does that mean it should actually read a bit higher than that? It was about 25C in the kitchen, unfortunately I don't have a suitable thermometer for the wort.

best bottles to put my homebrew in?

I'm using Mrs M's tonic water bottles for my turbo cider. They look identical to a box of clear bottles I bought from BiggerJugs. ...and others have mentioned, I have also done TC in the Tesco apple juice cartons (plastic milk bottle type) it originated in.

thinking of making a wood fired oven...

Looking at the photo and the video it appears to me that the bricks are only on the bottom - nothing on the sides.

How can Lakeland justify charging nearly £800 for that if it's just a tin box?
