Wilkinsons Fruits of the Forest Cider

Bottled mine yesterday. Took 3 weeks but managed to get an FG of 1004 which will give me a 5% abv. Brewed to 21L with 1.5kg of brewing sugar. Smells and tastes awesome so can't wait have a few of these on a warm summers evening.

    Beaverdale Pinot Grigio

Just want to add to my previous post. Had this kit bottled for a week and already 3 bottles gone. Beautiful floral aroma, with a fruity crisp dry finish. Even though its young I have enjoyed this more than the cheap supermarket Pinot Grigios and works out cheaper. This kit seems to go milky at...

    Wilkinson Apple Cider

Pleased to see good comments about this kit as I currently have one on the go. I also brewed short to 20L with 1kg of brewing sugar and 6L of apple juice from concentrate. Got SG of 1050 and took 3 Weeks to ferment out and got a surprising FG of 1002. I racked to secondary a few days ago to try...

    wilko.com sale

Going back to my local store to see if there is anything left. Already purchased a muntons premium 30 bottle Chardonnay, 24 wine bottles, 2 coopers lager, corks and 2 beer enhancer. I only need a couple of airlocks but I bet I will come back with more if there's stock left.

    Beaverdale Pinot Grigio

I am also making my first wine kits and opted for the Beaverdale Pinot Grigio and Beaverdale Merlot 6 bottle. The Pinot should be ready for bottling Sunday and will probably drink a bottle straight away as the sample I tasted during racking was very promising. If these are going to be as good as...

    Lager clarity issues!

Hi Could do with some guidance as I'm a little confused. Bottled 40 pints of my wilko golden lager. It spent a few days near the radiator in the spare room to prime then stored in two boxes on a shelf in same room. I sampled a beer after 2 weeks in the bottle and it had already started...

    Wilko Cider Kits Half Price!!!

Gonna get this kit on the weekend when I get an empty FV. Definately gonna brew short to 20l. Instructions say 1.5kg of brewing sugar. Might add extra fruit juice to try and enhance flavour. I whipped up the apple cider kit last week and also brewed short and added 6 litres of AJ from...

    Wilko Cider Kits Half Price!!!

Hi there! Been into my local Wilko store in Walsall and they are doing their own brand cider kits half price. Picked up a Forrest Fruits kit for £5.50. I've currently got two wilko kits in FV's and one conditioning. Also did the Wilko Sweet Newkie Brown which came out decent. Wilko kits don't...

    Stalled fermentaion on a lager!

Hi there, I bottled the same beer kit at the weekend. It took 11 days to finish fermenting but left it 14 to be on the safe side. Got FG down to 1006. If the bubbles have stopped you can give it a light stir with a sanitised long handled spoon but make sure you don't get oxygen in your brew. I...

    Brew number 3

My first brew was a youngs lager kit with 1kg brewing sugar which came out drinkable. Done a couple of other lager kits since using DME and brewing sugar with much better results. I will be bottling my wilko light lager tomorrow which I used 1kg muntons enhancer with a bit of sugar for a higher...

    Greetings from a new member!

Hi there, just registered to this forum and very much looking forward to sharing brewing experiences. I have only a handful of brews to my name over the past 12 months with beer kits but really getting the bug for this now. I have a wilko light golden lager in my FV and today started two wine...
