    have brewed many kits brewferm and coopers are my favorites, but i brewed a muntons conkerwood 3kg kit. it knocked my socks off. i did not bother with these (expensive) kits until now, when you work it out there not bad value, i mean a single can kit for say £12 add beer enhancer £4.50 total...

    i wonder how much energy it takes to brew 5 gallons. i mean with the price of electricity these days. it must be factored in to the overall cost of ag brewing, nobody seems to mention this.

    I think the reason most people get into homebrew is because of the cost. we should not forget this. it is the most fundamental point in HOMEBREWING but i keep seeing AG brewing being pushed as the way forward. AG brewing is an expensive way to home brew, and i believe some kits are as good as...

    on the verge of AG . but cost of equipment, buying grain etc, boiling for hours. is it really worth it. when you can get results like this for less than £20 just adding water and yeast.

    just started downing my muntons conkerwood WOW fantastic, only 3kg kits for me from now. what a difference, fantastic malty flavor, retains tight foaming head right down to the bottom of the glass. highly recommended.

    secondary fermentation

    all bottles are now out in shed, noticed the bottles with sugar and the bottles with glucose are already perfectly clear. the others still have a slight cloudiness. must be the malt content.

    Just bottled my coopers Australian lager and decided to experiment with secondary fermentation. added 6g off sugar to 10 bottles, 6g glucose to 10 bottles, 6g light spray malt to 10 bottles and 6g of 50/50 glucose/spray malt to 10 bottles.     can anyone recommend a quailty pressure barrel ive heard kingkeg toptap is the best but would be great full if anyone can give a bit of advice. i would prefer to use a soda stream co2 injector.

    just sampled my brewferm tarwebier bottled about 4 weeks ago. used 500g glucose 500g muntons wheat spraymalt .have to say fantastic. better than any commercial wheat beer ive tasted .not just me but friends agree .has any body tried this kit. highly recommended

    Re-using PET bottles

    my mate works for a drinks vending firm. has to chuck out all out of date pet bottles. he tells me they only last about 1year then they leach gas
