Just come across this post, would like to know how it came out? Any good? I have just made a standard Samson cider and highly rate it! brewed short to 18 litres its a very decent drink and I only need 1 :D will brew again for sure!

Just started my 3rd brew, a brewmaker Victorian bitter. And Im a tad worried as its looking slow. Only been two days, but nothing is happening yet and the other kits were bubbling away by now. Should I do anything or just wait and hope? Everything has been done correctly and its at a happy 24...

Help needed, first time brewer on a wherry. Been going since Saturday, stopped doing much yesterday and took a reading tonight. Looks to be around 1.014, should I get it bottled up or wait and check later? Just has a broken film on the top of bits, no foam. TIA

Just a newbie question... Do you have to use a trial jar? Or can you just pop a sterilised hydrometer into the FV? Thanks in advance :cheers:

What is the view on using wine bottles and corking? Or screw top wine bottles.....

Maybe worth getting one and drilling a hole then. Just trying to gear up for this, now cant decide what type of bottle to use. Or barrel. Don't want to spend a lot until I see a reasonable result....

nope only a bucket with lid, hydro, steriliser and syphon. Plus an out of date lager kit that went in the bin :lol:

This may sound odd but here goes. Total newbie question! I have been given a new unused beer kit by a mate. He couldn't be bothered with it :D Its a 40 pint lager kit, and the lid to the fermenter has no hole in it or any kind of breather devise with it. Do lager kits not need this or...
