    We were in St Ives in September on our beer pilgrimage to the Blue Anchor in Helston. Lovely place St Ives but crowded and no parking. You can get Sea Fury in Brixham and Dartmouth. PS Do you have a recipe for the Sharps Original?

    Wow just adding the black, chocolate and roasted barley that’s 21% which is huge, I’m not surprised the efficiency is low.

    Can you post your recipe please. I made a stout recently and although the brew house efficiency was a bit low at 73% rather than my average of 75% the yeast attenuation was 67% rather than 79% giving me ABV 3.9% rather than 4.5%. I have also had stouts with low efficiency. The problem is the...

    My father was born in Navigation road and worked for Yarwoods. My granny had a shop in Navigation Road. I’m an owner at 1874 Northwich and was a Vics fan for 50 years before. I don’t get to see many 1874 game as you can imagine.

    Today I brewed 22 litres of Brickfields Brown Ale Clone 4200g Maris Otter 300g Amber Malt 200g Naked malted oats 100g Chocolate Malt 100g Dark Crystal 25g Fuggles at 60 minutes 25g EKG at 15 minutes WHC Old English yeast OG 1058 expecting 1051.

    If I change the bittering hops from 30g to 35g is it a difference recipe. If the hop alpha acid is 10% for 2022 hops and I use 2023 at 11% with a different IBU is it a different recipe. Can we get back to discussing CML or has enough been said?

    I used to buy Tucker malt directly from their maltings in Newton Abbot until it closed. They still sell malt from there warehouse in Crediton Devon. It’s Warminster malt and crushed Maris Otter is £30.25 for 25kg.
