What are you drinking tonight 2025

Not really a fan of "Bitter", but just started on the Festival Father Hooks Best Bitter - I'll drink it, but wouldn't do it again - Only 39 pints to get through.......

    Simple Brewing

Anyone else into Simple Brewing? I mean like no iSpindles, Inkbirds, Brew fridges, etc... I just make up the kit as per the instructions, bung it all in a (clean and sanitised) bucket with an airlock and wait until it's done. I aim for 2 weeks ferment, 2 weeks carbonation in the bottles, then...

    Muntons Flagship Hazy IPA

Schoolboy error. Supposed to add first hops 24 hours after starting this one, I forgot. Now at day 10 - I've just added the hops. Instructions say add the second lot of hops after 7-10 days. So two loads of hops bunged in, and hoping it'll turn out ok.

    Sediment

Thanks for all your replies. I mostly do IPA's, so will be a bit more cautious when pouring. Occasionally I condition some in 2L pop bottles, so will decant into a jug first, before pouring.

    Sediment

Yeah, a bit of a strange title. I often watch beer reviews on Youtube, and if it's a bottle conditioned beer, the reviewer more often than not will pour most of the bottle, then swirl the remainder before adding it to the glass. Now, the majority of my homebrews go into bottles and I've always...

    Muntons Flagship Hazy IPA

Any thoughts on this one? Muntons Flagship Hazy IPA It was one of my first brews when I returned to brewing, and I thought it was really good, but the last few bottles tasted a bit strange. Possibly the PET bottles? (I was still collecting bottles / kegs/ etc, and ran out of glass bottles)...

    IPA Kits

Ok, folks - still early days in conditioning, but I've sampled the Festival Woodland Citra. Honest opinion - even though I should probably leave it for another couple of weeks, it tastes AMAZING already! I don't know what happened with the Partridge brew, but honestly this kit is great - I'm...

    5L Re-usable kegs?

Just had a look and can get one of these 4L Oxebar type things from China for under £20 - might be a better option than re-using a supposedly SS party keg from Shipyard / Doombar etc... ?

    Bottles.

Where do you source your bottles from? I really like the ease of using swing top bottles rather than capping. I had thought of asking at local pubs, but what pre-bottled main stream beer still come in swing tops? Do people still drink Grolsch, or anything else that I could source from a pub...

    5L Re-usable kegs?

Hi folks, I'm still bottling my beer, but quite like the idea of being able to take a 5L keg out when got to friends to let them sample some. There are very few supermarkets (if any ) that do the 5L kegs (last one I had was a Shipyard a few years ago). Where can I purchase these kegs - the ones...
