A special day for this rare beer.
Today a Barbados Rum Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 2022 from the Kehrwieder Brewery, Hamburg.
Here no. 724 of 820 bottles bottled.
Aroma: vanilla, apricots, marzipan
ABV: 12.7%
In the evening, the last Best Bitter 6 out of 6.
This beer was brewed with the dry yeast Lallemand Lalbrew Windsor. Sedimentation was a little longer with this yeast, but after 3 months the beer is clear.
A fantastic Marsala Weizenbock from the Maisel & Friends brewery in Bayreuth, Germany. The barrel-aged, creamy Weizenbock is a perfect symbiosis with the aromas of the sweet liqueur wine.
I prefer to fill glass bottles with crown caps. Depending on the ABV in 0.25 / 0.3 / 0.5 liter bottles.
For me, these containers are ideal for drinking in the evening, for swapping with beer- and brewing friends and for competitions.
At the beginning of April I am taking part in the "Kazbek Cup" competition in Zatec (CZ) with a DIPA.
Many microbreweries will be presenting their fantastic beers for tasting, and I'm looking forward to judging them.
